TRAINING PROJECT SALES

Periodically, we will take on a training project for the sheer pleasure of helping a horse in a tough situation get a second chance, and to provide our show clients with the opportunity to learn and practice training techniques that they don't have to work on with their own show horses. I always say, "you can't learn to ride a difficult horse without riding a difficult horse". Once we have these special horses at a training level ready for their own person to continue their journey, we will advertise them in this section with their full story, along with what they will need to continue on their path to being respectable citizens of the horse community.

Meet Percy

What started my journey with Percy I was looking for a project horse to bring along and use in lessons. Scrolling through Craigslist late one night I found his add, I thought he was so cute and I called the owner immediately. I went to see him the next day. Pulling into the property I couldn’t help but notice that it was an equivalent of a junk yard and he was the only animal on the property. I pulled down to the end of the street and there I saw him, standing in the road as skinny as can be. Me and my friend jump out of the car to catch him but he trotted off to the back of the property. Then and there I knew I had to give him a better life than he had. His owner then told me about how he had almost been starved to death two times and he needed a better way of life. I brought him home the next day.
